When I hear people complain about SPAM the first thing I ask is “How much are we talking about?” and almost always the answer is 10 a day.
Oh how I wish I only got 10 spam emails a day. Without the help of spam filters I get around 400 a day on my work email. It’s been setup for 7 years now and I’ve dealt with lots of clients and vendors. The problem is when a client has their email hacked or computer hacked because they didn’t use a strong password, the spammers now have my email address. After it happens enough times and voila, my spam went from maybe 50 a day to 400 a day in the matter of a week or 2.
The on server spam filter is just weird and can’t keep up with how quickly spam is taking over people’s computers and emails. I don’t get the same spam emails I got last week, but still getting a lot!
So I decided to implement the spam filter within Mail. It worked great for a little while but I’m at the point again where it can’t keep up. So time for a third party product.
I downloaded the trial of SpamSieve for Mail and so far it’s doing amazing. Of those 400 spam emails a day, less than a dozen made their way to my inbox!!! With some more training I’m sure this will do even better and be the solution I needed to keep all that out of my inbox.
