Paying with a credit card was a hassle? I remember going to the store with my mom when I was little and if she paid with a credit card then they had to pull out the carbon machine and run it over the card and then she had to sign and it just took longer than paying cash or check. Today is much different.
Everything you buy everyone pulls out a card. It’s convenient, fast, and you don’t have to worry about having cash or your checkbook around. Plus, if your wallet gets lost or stolen, make a quick call to the card company or your bank and it’s taken care of. Unlike cash that’s gone forever and can’t be tracked.
I was thinking about this though because our company sends out invoices to clients and most pay with a check. Recently though, the past year, we’ve pushed more auto payments with a credit card and even just accepting more credit cards instead of checks and people are paying that way much more often. We get our money quicker and they get their bonus rebates from their card company and more of a paper trail and the protections you get with credit cards.
I never thought I’d see the day that people would use a CC for fast food, but we all know that happened about 10 years ago. That is probably when I pretty much quick carrying cash. Just think of all the 1-2% these companies make every time you swipe that card.
