Print Design FAQ's
Will all of my marketing materials coordinate and have the same look and feel?
Absolutely! One of the benefits of using Century Marketing is that we do more than just offer printing services or graphic design services. We do it all. Century Marketing can work with you from start to finish, handing everything from graphic design and logo design to printing, production of promotional materials, and website design. By using Century Marketing for all of your marketing and promotional needs you can be assured that everything will coordinate beautifully to reflect your company brand image.
What artwork file types do you accept?
Century Marketing can accept both PC and Mac graphic files from the common graphics software packages, including Adobe InDesign (.indd), Adobe Photoshop (.psd), Adobe Illustrator (.ai), Adobe Acrobat (.pdf), and QuarkXPress (.qxp). Century Marketing currently uses Adobe CS4 so if you are using CS5 you will need to save down to CS4.
What resolution should artwork be?
For print materials Century Marketing uses vector files (Adobe Illustrator), so resolution is not an issue. If you do not have a vector file, we can trace and recreate your artwork in a vector format. The benefit of working with vector files is that they can be made as large as needed without altering the quality, so the same file can be used for a business card or a banner. In the event that you need to use a raster image, such as a photograph, it should be saved at 300 dpi for best results.
If I don’t have artwork, can you help?
Absolutely! The graphic design experts at Century Marketing can work with you to create all types of artwork, including logos, to make your marketing materials stand out from the crowd. You can sit down with our graphic designers while they design your artwork to make sure it is exactly what you want.
Can I use the same graphics for printed materials that I use for my website?
No. Website graphics are typically 72 dpi, the resolution of your monitor. Print graphics should be 300 dpi for them to print clearly. Also, web graphics are typically created in RGB mode. Print graphics are typically done in the CMYK mode and require a different setup than website graphics. Print materials also have special requirements for bleeds when printing side to side.
Do you keep my artwork on file?
Yes. Century Marketing will keep your artwork saved on our secure server so that you can reorder at any time without having to resubmit your files. This also makes it easier if you want to make changes or updates down the road.
Can you match our corporate color?
Yes. Century Marketing uses the Pantone Matching System (PMS), which includes a color chart that we use to find the ink formula with the closest match to your corporate color.
Is there a minimum order?
There is no minimum order on anything Century Marketing offers. If you only need a handful of brochures or just want to print one item as a prototype, we can do that.
Are there setup fees?
Century Marketing charges a design fee when we create something for you. If you already have a print-ready file that does not require any changes there is no setup fee.
